Updated: 5:34pm – As the World Sevens Series takes a break this weekend, there is so much to look forward to for the Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s team when it resumes in Singapore on the 28th of this month.

After their historic 4th consecutive win in Hong Kong last night, one player who continues to show his brilliance is “The Sledge Hammer” Eroni Sau who has also been tipped to win the Rookie of the Year Award this year.

Sau was on song again in Hong Kong with a wonderful work rate that puts him to the top of the DHL Impact Player of the Tournament and in second place in the overall standings behind Justin Douglas.

Coach Gareth Baber has already described Sau as their lethal weapon in attack but has always produced some heavy defence.

Sau is expected to showcase his talent again this weekend in the Commonwealth Games 7s.

The national side is on it’s way to the Gold Coast for the Commonwealth Games this weekend.

Team Fiji has never won a gold medal in the Commonwealth 7s competition.

Fiji will play Sri Lanka at 1.21pm Saturday in their first game, they will then meet Uganda at 7.53pm on Saturday in their second pool match before facing Wales at 11.33pm in their last pool game.

There will be no quarterfinals as the top four teams will go straight to the semi finals at 1.43pm Sunday and the Commonwealth 7s final will kick off at 5.04pm Sunday.

The Fijiana 7s team also kick off their Commonwealth Games campaign on Friday.

The Fiji Women’s 7s team will meet England at 7pm Friday and then face Wales at 9.55pm Friday.
