UPDATED: 8:56am – A call for public assistance is today being made by the Kidney Specialist at CWM Hospital, Doctor Amrish Krishnan for people to come forward to donate a kidney to the youngest dialysis patient in the country.

13-year-old Ravouvou Naviri, whose kidneys have failed, is currently undergoing dialysis three times a week, and a permanent solution for him would be a kidney transplant. The total weekly cost for dialysis for Ravouvou is $750.

Dialysis is a temporary fix for now for Ravouvou until he gets a compatible kidney for surgery.

A member of the public visited the CWM Hospital after hearing about 13-year-old Ravouvou’s story on Fijivillage and offered to donate his kidney.

Doctor Krishnan says unfortunately the person’s blood group type was different. Ravouvou’s blood group type is A+ and Doctor Krishnan is calling on members of the public to come forward and assist Ravouvou if they have the same blood group type and would like give a kidney to the 13-year-old boy.

Doctor Krishnan says they are calling on people who are 18 years to their early 60s to come forward and donate a kidney to Ravouvou as this would change his life forever.

You can call Doctor Amrish Krishnan on 8642936 or 9366162 if you want to assist Ravouvou.
