Updated: 6:55am – A former Legal Secretary from the Independent Legal Services Commission, Afrana Nisha appeared in court yesterday for corrupted related offences.

The matter was listed for the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption to serve the 2013, 2014 and 2015 Auditor’s General’s report to Defense.

FICAC Counsel, Sera Fatafehi said that they have served the 2013 audited accounts of the office of the Auditor General’s report.

However, the 2014 and 2015 audited accounts is yet to be received.

It is alleged that Nisha while being employed as the secretary to the Independent Legal Services Commission dishonestly falsified six Bank of Baroda cheques amounting to more than $13,000 by forging signatures of the Solicitor General of Fiji and the payees.

The magistrate has given 21 days for defense to make written submissions on the use of the telephone records and bank account statements to which the prosecution has been given 14 days to reply to.

The matter has been adjourned to 3rd November for mention before a ruling is made.
