Kolitagane says the 2014 United Nations World Risk Report ranks Fiji as one of the world’s 15 most exposed countries to natural hazard.

He adds that this project is to strengthen climate resilience of communities for food and nutrition security.

Kolitagane says that these extreme weather effects in Fiji are evident and it affects agriculture production, which is still the backbone of Fiji’s economy.

This pro-resilience project is expected to achieve two objectives, firstly to improve climate risk identification and management capacities at national, provincial and village levels and secondly to have Climate smart and nutrition sensitive agriculture techniques adopted by vulnerable farmers.
