The Vodafone Fiji Football side is in a must win situation when the play New Zealand in the FIFA World Cup Stage Three Qualifier on Tuesday.

After the 2-nil win over Fiji in Lautoka yesterday, New Zealand has seven points from three matches and needs only a draw in its last match to qualify for the final. Fiji, on the other hand need to win all three games, one against New Zealand and two against New Caledonia to qualify.

Meanwhile, Fijian coach Christophe Gamel had mixed emotions after the loss yesterday.

“Firstly, I am very proud of my team. They played really well, maintained position like we had done in training. However, I am also disappointed. We had not trained for this. Going one-nil down from the penalty just killed us and the mistake by the goal-keeper was a huge one.”

The Fiji-New Zealand match kicks off at 6.35pm on Tuesday in Wellington.

The Fiji side left for New Zealand this morning.
