A man accused of raping an eighteen year old woman at the Vatuwaqa Golf Course in Suva two years ago claims the woman consented to having sex with him.
25-year-old Josefa Bera who faces one count of rape took the stand this morning.

Bera told the court that on the day of the alleged offense, he met the woman in a nightclub in Suva and she agreed to go to the Vatuwaqa Golf Course with him a friend – second accused Matorino Madogo.
He claims they drank Chinese whiskey and the woman made the first move, following which he went home.
The second accused will give his statement in court next week.
