Sayed-Khaiyum says following the discussions, the Ministry will then decide as to how the Valelevu Ground will be developed and how much of the $850,000 will be used that was allocated in the 2017/2018 National Budget for construction works of the Valelevu Sports Stadium.

He says there is a need to build a modern sports facility in Nasinu and Valelevu Ground provides them a good opportunity to provide this facility to cater for the residents of Nasinu.

Sayed-Khaiyum says the idea is to have a grandstand,  floodlights, conference facilities and space for gatherings at the Sports facility.

SODELPA’s MP, Salote Radrodro then stated that from 2015 they have been only hearing about the planning stage of the sports complex in Nasinu.

She says there is a need for just playgrounds at Nairevurevunicagi, Nawanawa and Tacirua.

Radrodro asked Sayed-Khaiyum if it would be possible to divert some of the funds to develop some playgrounds while they wait for the big project to take place.

Sayed-Khaiyum told the Parliamentarians that he thinks the Nasinu Town Council is looking at various options and he is sure the points raised by Radrodro has already been taken into consideration by the municipality.
