Updated: 5:40am – The fifth prosecution witness in the trial of four men who allegedly raped their 13-year-old nephew, confirmed in the High Court today that the boy had told her in March last year that he was raped by two men and the third man showed the boy his private parts.

The 56-year-old woman says she is in the same prayer group as the victim and the boy had told her what the first, second and third accused had done to him.

She says that the boy who is 14 now, had said that he had suffered injuries after the rapes.

The woman said that the boy had told her that the first accused had called him into the kitchen, closed the door and forced him to have sex with him.

She said that the boy was crying as he was telling her about what the uncles had done to him.

The boy had also told her that the second accused had raped him in a coconut plantation near the village.

The 14-year-old had said that the second accused had told him not to tell anyone or he would kill him.

The woman also said that the boy had told her about another incident where the third accused had asked him to have sex with him.

The boy said that the uncle had also showed him his private parts.

She also identified each alleged rapist in court today.

Meanwhile the defense counsels in the trial have said to the boy that the rapes did not take place as alleged by him.

Defense lawyer Nemani Tuifagalele presented the boy’s exam results and school counselling details before High Court Judge Justice Salesi Temo today.

He said that the exam results show that he remained in 10th position and it proves that what the boy had said was incorrect.

The boy had said yesterday that his school work was badly affected after the rapes.

Tuifagalele presented reports where the boy had reported to the school counsellor that he was abused by three boys on March 10th, 2016.

There were also reports on the 15th and 21st of June, 2016 where the boy had counselling for bad behaviour, passing comments to other students and not concentrating in class.

Tuifagalele then said to the boy that this is his actual conduct in school.

He also said that the 14-year-old boy did not have any psychiatric assessment to prove that his school work was affected.

Tuifagalele said that his school work was not affected because the rapes did not take place.

The boy maintained in court today that the incident took place.

The alleged incidents occurred in Tailevu between November 2015 to March last year.

The four uncles have been charged with one count each of rape and all of them have pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The first accused is 40-years-old, the second accused is 32, the third accused is 45 while the fourth accused is 42.
