Update: 8:17am – An Indian-origin man was caught and confronted by paedophile vigilantes when he thought he was going meeting a 12-year-old girl for sex in England. The man identified as 24-year-old Praju Prasad had arranged a meeting with the young girl after a hotel refused to accommodate a man and a child.
The location Prasad picked for the indecent meeting was North Shields Metro Station but he ended up pleading for mercy when members of Guardians of the North turned up instead of the 12-year-old.
Prasad fell on his knees while pleading when paedo hunters greeted by saying, “You are here to meet a 12-year-old girl for sex.” The police were called and Prasad was arrested on charges of attempting to meet an under-age girl for sexual activities after grooming her.
A Newcastle Court handed Prasad a nine-month prison sentence and a fine £140 for pleading guilty to his crime. The court then ordered Prasad to register himself as a sex offender for five years.
The series of the message that Prasad exchange was with what he believed was a young girl but was in fact a group of paedophile hunters.
When they reached the meeting location fixed over the phone and confronted Prasad, he kneeled on the floor of the metro station and began begging for mercy.
A member of the vigilante group Guardians of the North said, “If this man hadn’t been caught by us then he could well have gone on to abuse an actual child. We are not happy with the sentence.”
In the series of messages, he mentioned getting physical with the person he thought was a young girl. In one of the messages, Prasad told the ‘girl’ of his intention of booking room for himself and her.
There were plenty of messages exchange in which the ‘girl’ raised several questions. At one point, in one of the messages, Prasad did mention the girl’s age making it clear that he was aware that the meeting was with an underage girl.
Regardless of the fact he continued chatting away with the vigilante group, who posed as the girl, and ultimately landed himself in trouble.
