Updated: 7:50am – A sixty-four-year old former Security Officer of Nasinu was sentenced to eleven years imprisonment after he was found guilty of one count of rape.
The victim in this case is a six-year-old boy, who is the grandson of the accused.

The offence took place on the 20th of December last year inside their bathroom.
High Court Judge, Justice Riyaz Hamza when sentencing the man, said that he has violated the vulnerability of the victim at a very tender age.
He also pointed out the age difference of fifty eight years which is an aggravating factor.
The man is separated from his wife with five children and is a first offender.
He has a non-parole period of nine years.
