Updated: 6:30am – A thirty-year-old man charged with seventeen counts of abduction, rape and defilement has been remanded in custody.
It is alleged the man abducted and defiled a fourteen-year-old girl in May this year.

The alleged offence took place in Samabula, Suva.
He appeared before the Suva Magistrates Court this afternoon and bail has been refused, due to the seriousness of the case.
The matter will be recalled on a later date.
