UPDATED: 9:28am – An unemployed man of Suva who is alleged to have robbed an American National, has been remanded in custody.

Jonacani Qalova is charged with aggravated robbery appeared in the Sigatoka Magistrates Court yesterday.

The court heard that on Tuesday, this week he allegedly robbed the tourist at Foster Road, in Walu Bay.

Prosecution Office confirms the tourist came to the country to attend a conference in Suva.

Qalova allegedly stole a gold master card, Nike canvas and a Samsung phone valued at $975. He is expected to front court in Suva next week.
