Rewa applied tremendous pressure from the opening whistle and Labasa defenders were forced to commit errors in their penalty box.

Some sluggish defense by Labasa saw Rewa getting quality balls and star playmaker, Iosefo Verevou scored the winning goal for Rewa in the 14th minute after he lobbed the ball over Labasa goalkeeper, Akuila Mateisuva who came out rushing to clear the ball.

Rewa kept applying  pressure and went to the breather with the 1-0 lead.

Labasa tried hard to equalize but stubborn Rewa defense ensured Labasa was kept at bay.

Rewa’s coach Marika Rodu says the aim now is to win back to back tournaments this year.

Labasa’s coach Gurjit Singh says they tried their best but just could not score.

Lautoka will face Nadi in the second semi-final at 3pm today at Churchill Park
