There’s been a clash of the sporting codes in Germany, as the All Blacks Sevens caught up with Bayern Munich’s Kiwi football imports, Sarpreet Singh and Ali Riley.

Singh and Riley welcomed the sevens team to Munich for this weekend’s Oktoberfest tournament – the sole pre-season event before the 2019/20 world series, which starts in November.

The squad got the chance to hold a training session at Bayern Munich’s state-of-the-art Sabener Strasse facility, before meeting All Whites midfielder Singh and White Ferns captain Riley.

The pair were joined by Polish superstar Robert Lewandowski, who was presented with an All Blacks Sevens jersey.

“Always nice seeing Kiwi faces, all the best for the weekend, boys,” Singh posted on his Instagram page.

After training, the sevens squad were hosted for the club’s Champions League match against Red Star Belgrade at Allianz Arena on Thursday (NZT) – Bayern won 3-0.

Although Singh has played pre-season football with Bayern’s senior team, he has yet to feature in a competitive match.

He has played four games, scoring once for Bayern II – the club’s reserve team.
