Three Year 13 students charged with rape granted bail by High Court

Update: 6:31am – Three Year 13 students of a secondary school in Nausori each charged with one count of rape have been granted bail by Suva High Court Judge Vincent Perera.

Legal Aid lawyer Talei Kean applied for bail saying that the accused persons have to sit for their English Paper tomorrow in the Year 13 external exams.

Two of the students are 19-years-old while the third accused is 18-years-old.

They have been released on bail with a $1,000 bail bond each.

Arrangements have been made for the students to sit for their papers at the National Substance Abuse Advisory Council office in Nasinu until 1st November 2017.

According to the summary of facts, the three students allegedly raped a 14-year-old student in the school premises on 25th September this year.
