War of words erupt between Sayed-Khaiyum and Prasad on Qorvis motion | NZ FIJI TIMES

Update: 8:00m pm – $1 million has been allocated for services from Qorvis Communications which is an international public relations, advertising, media relations and crisis communications firm.

While moving the motion during the Committee of Supply, Opposition MP Professor Biman Prasad says the government does not need Qorvis Communications.

Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum then told Opposition MP Biman Prasad to stop speculating about Qorvis.

Opposition MP Ratu Kiniviliame Kiliraki said the $1 million allocated to Qorvis should be given back to the tax payers of this country.

He says we have people in Fiji that can do public relations for the government.

In statement responding to the comments made by Minister for Economy, Motibhai Group of Companies says it disagrees with the comments made by the Honourable Minister in parliament this morning.

The company says they have an iconic restaurant named ZigZag Café which is attached to our flagship Prouds Store in Nadi and people from all walks of life come to the restaurant on a daily basis.

It says as a customer service, people from Motibhai Group often have tea or coffee with customers who walk into the store in Nadi.

The statement also says that the Fiji Times newsroom operates independently without any influence from its owners ‑ Motibhai Group

Fiji Times Editor in Chief Fred Wesley says he will respond after he goes through the comments made by the Minister for Economy.
