Registrar of Political Parties Ana Mataiciwa, a key figure in Fijian politics, has confirmed that the notice given to the FijiFirst Party on 30 May 2024, allowing them until 4 p.m. on 28 June 2024, to amend the constitution, still stands.

She clarified that she does not have intervening powers under the Political Parties (Registration, Conduct, Funding, and Disclosures) Act but will only intervene if a party breaches the Act.

Mataiciwa confirmed that several FijiFirst party members and office holders have resigned, including Voreqe Bainimarama as founding member, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum as Foundation Member, Ratu Joji Satakala as President, Selai Adimaitoga as Vice President, Ravindran Kumaran as Vice President, Shailesh Kumar as Foundation Member, and Faiyaz Koya as Acting General Secretary and Registered Officer.
