Council President Amitesh Deo has called for improved security measures and an urgent appeal to the Fiji Police Force for safety.

The Council has been collaborating with the Police to address the rising crime rates, but logistical challenges have resulted in the withdrawal of officers.

Deo has contacted the Acting Police Commissioner, Juki Fong Chew, to discuss the re-deployment of a police unit but has not received any response. The Police have confirmed that a man has been arrested.
