Police are currently looking for Ben Fox, who also goes by Sam. He was last seen at his residence in Masterton.
Fox is 56 years old, of medium build, 1.72m tall, and has short hair. His vehicle was discovered near the Mangatere Valley walking track.
The police and LandSAR are combing the area and maintaining communication with the family.
A helicopter has been dispatched to aid in the search. The police are also asking for information about sightings of a white 2013 Subaru Impreza on Mangatere Rd.
Anyone with information or sightings of Fox is urged to contact the police.
