A Fijian man has been charged with the murder of his Fijian girlfriend in Sydney, allegedly due to a domestic violence attack.
Police found 21-year-old Nunia Kurualeba with two stab wounds to her chest at a home near Penrith. Kurualeba lived with flatmates and her partner, Jeremaia Tuwai.
Despite attempts to save her, she died at the scene. Witnesses reported a man running from the unit complex before officers could arrive, sparking a manhunt.
Tuwai was arrested at Derby Street in Penrith and charged with domestic violence murder.
He was refused bail and will seek mental health treatment while in custody. The case will return to court on September 6th.
