A two-truck crash on State Highway 1 in Marlborough has resulted in one person dying and another seriously injured.
The incident occurred at Tuamarina, between Bush and Para roads, shortly before 10 am yesterday.
The Commercial Vehicle Investigation Team and the Serious Crash Unit were at the scene, and the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
The highway remains closed, and diversions are in place.
The New Zealand Transport Agency has announced that delays are expected. Police are supporting the families of both drivers.
