A body was discovered on the beach of Ladies Bay, St Heliers, Auckland, following an unexplained death.
The body was reported by a public member at 7.13 am on Wednesday.
The police are currently investigating the circumstances of the death, which is being treated as unexplained.
The beach is described as a private and isolated area unsuitable for young people or families.
