A 40-year-old man died while assisting a homeowner in Nadroumai Village, Nadroga, who was engulfed in flames.
The victim collapsed while removing items from a room and was rushed to Sigatoka Hospital.
Investigations are ongoing, and a post-mortem will be conducted to confirm his death.
Police are urging homeowners to take precautionary measures and always check fire hazards.
