A groundbreaking ceremony for a new water project has commenced at Lokia Landing
The $17.3 million project will deliver clean, safe drinking water to communities facing water supply challenges.

The Water Mains Project began with a groundbreaking ceremony at Lokia Landing. This will benefit approximately 164,000 Fijians residing in the Suva-Nausori corridor.

Public Works Minister Ro Filipe Tuisawau highlighted the government’s commitment to improving the lives of Fijians. He highlighted the importance of climate mitigation and climate-resilient infrastructure.

The project will significantly impact daily lives, health, education, and economic opportunities for the 164,000 residents.

Flame Tree Developments will undertake the project under the name Lokia Pipe Laying Works. It is expected to be completed by October 2025.
