Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Professor Biman Prasad has announced that the 2023-24 National budget has resulted in a historic achievement for the Fiji Revenue and Customs Service, with net revenue collection at $3.1bn.
This represents a 2.3% increase from the forecast of $68 million.
Prasad believes that the policies implemented in the last and 2024-25 budgets set a solid framework for the country.
Due to this positive outcome, Fiji’s economy is expected to grow by more than 3%.
The DPM is also seeing a high level of optimism in the economy, as many projects are being started.
The confidence level of the Fijian economy has increased since the announcement of the 2024-25 national budget.
