“We want to make the police job easier. To have CCTVcamera in our town will also reduce crime and make the work of the police easy because the main monitor will be at the Police HQ in Labasa at the Command Centre. 24/7 there will be a police officer sitting there watching our town.”

The cameras are installed at various points from the Labasa Municipal Market to Y Corner, as well as the Labasa Bus Stand and Jaduram Street.

A few more cameras will be installed along Nanuku Street, Sangam Street and Park Street.

The project has cost $36,000.
