Vi worked as a postal courier contractor for Post Haste and was described by his neighbours as a kind grandfather.

Police have not announced any arrests, and the killing has unsettled locals, who are concerned about the identity of the shooter.

Detective Inspector Shaun Vickers stated that the investigation is ongoing. The formal identification will be carried out in the coming days.

Police are still working to locate the person involved, and dashcam and CCTV footage are being sought.

Anyone traveling in Pakuranga Heights between 5:30 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. on Monday and with footage should speak to the police.

Police also seek information from people in Cascades Road, Archmillen Avenue, Hope Farm Avenue, or Marvon Downs Avenue.

Detective Inspector Shaun Vickers thanked those who have spoken to them. He also encouraged the community if anyone with any information to contact their team.
