The Prosecution in this case is trying to prove that Devi attempted to kill her son, using strips of bed sheet.

In turn of events in court today, the defense questioned the credibility of the prosecution after they produced an Indian garment – sari saying that this was the material that Devi allegedly tried to use to hang her son.

The Defense is disputing that until now, prosecution has been saying and also in the particulars of the offense that strips of bed sheet was allegedly used by the accused.

The Defense Counsel also said that a sari is normally tied to the roof and used as a swing for children in some homes.

The witness continued saying that he felt pity for the accused as she was crying and informed him that her mother-in-law had been ill-treating her for some time and that her younger child was not listening to her at all and was attached to his grandmother.

The case will continue today.
