Fiji could host Pacific Games in 2027

Updated: 6:56am – Pacific Games Council President, Vidhya Lakhan, says Fiji still has a chance to host the Pacific Games in the future.

Lakhan says Fiji could bid for 2027 games after three years when the bidding opens in 2020.

Samoa will host the next Pacific Games in 2019 while American Samoa and Niue have bided for 2023 games.

The bid for 2023 games closes in February next year.

Meanwhile, the Pacific Minis Games is currently underway in Vanuatu with New Caledonia leading the medal tally with 34 gold, Papua New Guinea in second with 22 gold and Fiji is placed third with 16 gold, 14 silver and 18 bronze medals.
