Adhere to road rules, that’s the message from the Fiji Police force after a serious accident yesterday left five people hospitalized.
Director Traffic – SSP Mahesh Mishra says people continue to drive recklessly with nine fatalities already recorded for this year.
““The accident at Korovuto, the victims are still admitted at the Lautoka hospital and they are very serious and as far as police are concerned, our investigations continue, we are just trying to get all our necessary excerpts to be done, to be taken, probably we are just waiting for the situation of the victim.””
SSP Mishra says while investigations are continuing, the impact of the collision indicate the two vehicles were speeding.
60 people died in road accidents last year – the majority of them – due to speeding.
