Fiji Giants loses its final pool match to Crusaders

Updated: 10:07pm – The Fiji Giants have lost their final pool match to the Crusaders 17-0 in the Brisbane Global 10’s.

Jone Macilai scored the opening try for the Crusaders.

Fiji trailed 12-0 at halftime.

In the second half, Fiji struggled to score any points as the Crusaders’ Tom Christie scored of the back of a turn over to extend their lead and seal the win for the men from Christchurch.

In other results the Reds thrashed the Panasonic Wild Nights 38-7, the Blues were dominant in their possession defeating the Rebels 29-7, Pau defeated the Highlanders 22-7, Chiefs defeated the Waratahs 15-12.

Meanwhile, the Hurricanes have just defeated the Brumbies 12-10.

In the quarterfinals, the Chiefs will take on the Reds at 7pm while the Hurricanes will meet the Waratahs at 7.30pm.

The Blues and the Crusaders have automatically qualified for the Brisbane Global 10’s Semifinals.

The Blues will take on the winner of the Chiefs and Reds while the Crusaders will face the winner of the match between the Hurricanes and Waratahs.

The semifinal will be held at 8.30pm while the final will be held at 10.15 tonight
