Former Suva rep Madhvan Gounder is gelling well in the Rewa side as the team leaves for New Zealand in preparations for the OFC Champions League.
Coach Marika Rodu says Gounder, who joined the team in the recent transfer window, has been a good inclusion.
“He has brought in more options in my mid-field.

He can also play central-defender. I am looking to see and try him out in the right mid-field. It’s good to have a team that has many variations.”

Gounder scored a goal in his team’s 2-nil win over Rakiraki in the Vodafone Premier League last weekend.

Meanwhile, in VPL matches this week, at Subrail Park on Saturday, Labasa plays Nadi at 1.30pm while Dreketi takes on Rakiraki at 3.30pm.
On Sunday, at the same venue, Dreketi plays Nadi at 1.30pm while Labasa battles Rakiraki at 3.30pm.
Rewa leads the standings with six points while Ba, Suva and Lautoka have three points each.
