Fiji News: 28 year old remanded in custody for theft

A 28-year-old employer of a Plumbing company in Suva who allegedly stole an ATM card from his cousin and withdrew more than $13,000 has been remanded in custody.

Apolosi Ranawai who is charged with 54 counts of theft appeared at the Sigatoka Magistrates Court.

It is alleged that the owner of the ATM card was a female soldier who served in Golan Heights in 2015. She gave her card to her boyfriend, who is related to the accused.

When she returned last year, she found out that her money was stolen and reported the matter.

The case will be recalled on the 26th of this month in Suva.
