FIJI NEWS: $35m in COVID-19 relief scheme by FNPF

The Fiji National Provident Fund has paid out more than $35 million for COVID-19 help withdrawals.

41,698 individuals got to their own assets, while 12,443 individuals were helped by the Government with a payout of $4.2m.

FNPF Chief Executive Jaoji Koroi says its payout of $31m, is the greater part of the aggregate sum got to for early withdrawals in 2019.

54,141 have gotten to their assets for the COVID-19 alleviation withdrawal plot, which is 70% of all out applications got up until this point.

Koroi says delays in handling are not purposeful as there are wrong or fragmented structures filled by individuals, accommodation mistakes on the gateway, off base subtleties gave and challenges arriving at managers and individuals when explanations are required.

He adds that because of the enormous volume of installments, there have been difficulties with installments handling for M-PAiSA, BillPaid (Post Fiji) and the Government top-up.

In the mean time, $515,000 has been paid to 406 individuals for the TC Harold withdrawal conspire, which is being handled all the while with the COVID-19 applications.

The Fund’s investigation groups are in Kadavu this week and have begun visiting towns and settlements that have been distinguished by the National Disaster Management Office.
