FIJI NEWS: Forty individuals were arrested for playing sports

Forty people were captured over the most recent 24 hours for taking part in sports related exercises in the midst of the COVID-19 limitations.

Thirty-nine captures were made in Lami while one in Samabula.

Of those captured twenty-two are adolescents who were playing contact rugby at the Nukuwatu foreshore in Lami.

For another situation a 20-year-old was captured for playing contact rugby along Hedstrom Road in Samabula with a gathering of individuals, while others fled from the zone.

The Police Commissioner is asking guardians and gatekeepers to screen their kids’ whereabouts as they won’t spare a moment to capture any individual who is discovered neglecting to agree to wellbeing orders.

Another two adolescents were captured in the Southern Division for check in time breaks.

A sum of fifty-seven captures were made over the most recent 24 hours.
