The Health Ministry is intending to lead COVID-19 tests locally inside the following month.
Dr. Ifereimi Waqainabete says at present they’re sending test samples to the World Health Organization Laboratory in Melbourne, Australia with each test costing $4000.
Dr. Waqainabete says they’re working as a team with universal associations on approaches to rapidly recognize COVID-19 instead of conveying samples somewhere else for testing.
“We are utilizing spending arrangements that are been planned for the Fiji Centre for Disease Control from the Fiji Government. As I have implied, we have sub-atomic testing which is like what’s been utilized for COVID-19 inside the FCDC and we’ve been in conversation with WHO and as of late with the US Centre for Disease Control and we would like to have the option to test this locally inside the following half a month.”
The Health Minister says the Fiji Centre for Disease Control right now has two methods of testing that permit them to distinguish different infection-based sicknesses.
“Serological testing, dengue, chikungunya, leptospirosis, measles, and rotavirus. Sub-atomic analysis, zika, leptospirosis, measles, rubella, flu, and meningococcal infection.”
Dr. Waqainabete says it’s significant that COVID-19 test to be directed locally for a guaranteed result as well as to set aside cash also.
