Energy Fiji Limited needs more than $2 billion in the next ten years to undertake various projects to ensure reliable power supply for the nation. Reasoning the energy company’s proposal to increase the electricity tariff rate, chief executive Hasmukh Patel says projects such as solar farm, hydro and power generation need significant amounts of money.

Patel adds these projects will assist EFL in transiting into a more environmental friendly electricity supply in line with the government’s commitment to reduce carbon emission by 2030.
