Rewa was held to a 1 all draw by NRFL Division 1 side Franklin United at the Drury Sports Complex last night.

Rewa started the match on a high with Epeli Saukuru getting his name on the score sheet early in the first half. Rewa continued to apply pressure in the first half, however the experience of Salesh Kumar, Leone Vurukania and Shameel Rao helped Franklin to go into the breather down by just 1 nil.

Franklin United introduced former Rewa striker Apisai Smith in the second half as they tried hard to get an equaliser. A lovely through ball midway in the 2nd half from Salesh Kumar enabled Franklin United striker Chris Abbot to equalise.

The experience of Solomon Islands midfielder Michael Fifii in the midfield for Franklin United disturbed Rewa’s style of play and made it difficult for the Marika Rodu coached side to create goal scoring opportunities .

Rewa still remain unbeaten in their buildup matches and finish off their NZ Tour on Wednesday when they face Waitakere United at Bill Mckinlay Park.
