The weather was overcast with a temperature of 17 degrees more chilly then what the local based players are used to but Vodafone Flying Fijians Coach, John McKee said that it was quite a nice day in Melbourne and that they expected it to be cold in this part of the world during this month.

But that did not deter the team from having a good training run and McKee added that they as long as it stayed dry they were not worried of what the temperature was.

Apart from the field training sessions, off the field, the Vodafone Flying Fijians Coaching staff have done their analysis on the Wallabies team and are aware of their Game Plan from their previous tours.  McKee said that for now the team will focus on their defence to shut their opponents down and not give them any opportunities.

According to Vodafone Flying Fijians Skipper, Akapusi Qera the players were really impressive at today’s training session.

“I am really impressed with the boys and the effort they put in with their energy level and concentration today.  We met our defence coach for the first time today and his first impression on us was really good.  The boys reacted well to it and we managed to start off the training well and finish well as expected.”

“Going into the game against Australia this weekend, our main focus is to maintain our discipline and we know that they have good kickers and three points is vital for winning and losing a game.  For us our main goal is discipline and to play our own game, our Fiji style that we are well known for and enjoy it.”

Qera added that the weather conditions should not be an excuse for the team as they are here to do a job which they aim to complete on a high note this Saturday.

The Vodafone Flying Fijians continue their training sessions today.
