Updated: 7:05am – Five classrooms at Lelean Memorial School have been destroyed in fire yesterday.

The National Fire Authority confirms that they received the call after 4pm.

Lelean Vice Principal Marika Sovaki has just called us and has asked all year 9 students of Lelean to stay home today due to the fire.

Sovaki says that they suspect the cause of the fire is an electrical fault.

He adds that this will not affect their exams.

The National Fire Authority is currently investigating the cause of fire.

The classroom building that was destroyed was the main entrance to the school which believed to be the Form 3 classrooms blocks.
