Five individuals are set to appear in court after allegedly making fraudulent ACC claims. The charges follow a significant fraud investigation by police and ACC.
In November 2023, officers were alerted to a coordinated operation where the alleged offenders created fraudulent ACC claims.
The investigation was launched in response to multiple incidents where clients misused an online platform to gain funds through a reimbursement process.
The key individuals involved are three women aged 31, 24, and 36, a 41-year-old man, and a 42-year-old woman.
All are due to appear today, facing two charges of accessing a computer for dishonest purposes.
Police are making further inquiries and further charges are being considered due to the large scope of offending.
ACC deputy chief executive service delivery Michael Frampton said the investigation showed no evidence of cyber security compromise.
