A man has been sentenced to 12 years and 11 months for raping his 15-year-old daughter in 2020.
The crime occurred in their home in Nadi, where the victim was pregnant.
The victim’s mother and aunt forced her to reveal the incident.
The Lautoka High Court Judge deemed the father’s breach of trust as a serious breach of trust, stating that rape is becoming more frequent in society.
A non-parole period of 10 years and 11 months has been set.
