Fiji has seen a decrease in road fatalities this year, with 38 compared to 62 in the same period last year.
The Land Transport Authority (LTA) works with the Fiji Police Force and other stakeholders to enhance road safety.
Over the past year, the authority has suspended 13 driver’s licenses. Also canceled 114, issued 1,251 warning letters, and conducted 58 showcase hearings.
The LTA emphasizes the need for responsible behaviour among road users and aims to prevent further accidents.
The authority’s actions are designed to penalize and reinforce the seriousness of road safety laws.
