Former Assistant Health Minister Alex O’Connor has been charged by the Fiji Independent Commission against Corruption with three counts of Prohibition on the Use of State Resources to Campaign.
The charges against O’Connor stem from his alleged involvement in campaign activities, including distributing campaign materials to health centers and nursing stations in the Northern Division.
The defense counsel has requested time to finalize the pretrial conference and has written to FICAC on representation. The Suva Magistrate has given the defense 21 days to file a Pretrial Trial (PTC) and investigate representation.
The next court sitting will fix a hearing date, and the matter has been adjourned to 6th August.
