As Home Affairs Minister Pio Tikoduadua announced, the Immigration Department in Fiji plans to launch an online application portal to enhance the efficiency and accessibility of immigration services.

The Minister states that the portal will enable applicants to submit requests electronically, monitor the status of their applications in real-time, and receive timely updates.

This initiative is aimed at reducing paperwork, streamlining the immigration process, and making it more user-friendly.

Additionally, the department will provide extensive training for immigration officers, establish a dedicated customer support helpline, and offer an online chat service.

The implementation of advanced biometric systems will improve identity verification, and data analytics will ensure efficient resource allocation based on application trends.

These efforts are essential for ensuring national security and maintaining international competitiveness.
