In the previous month, 43 individuals were charged with 65 counts of non-sexual violence offences

Last month, forty-three people were charged with 65 non-sexual violence offences. Among them, a 21-year-old man is accused of killing his 59-year-old granduncle.

the accused and the victim were related in five incidents
Three of the accused were juveniles facing charges of aggravated burglary and theft. The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) reported that the accused and the victim were related in five incidents.

The non-sexual violence offences included one murder, one manslaughter, seven aggravated robberies, one attempted robbery, eleven aggravated burglaries, three burglaries, nineteen thefts, one case of receiving stolen property, one arson, one attempted arson, one case of assault causing actual bodily harm, four cases of acting with intent to cause grievous harm, two cases of criminal intimidation, one case of grievous harm, one common assault, three serious assaults, one case of giving false information to a public servant, three breaches of bail, and three cases of damaging property.

Separately, six men were previously charged with the manslaughter of a 27-year-old man, but the charges against them were dropped as they are now state witnesses.

A 24-year-old man was charged with intent to cause grievous harm to his 45-year-old father with a cane knife and three counts of damaging property for allegedly damaging his father’s vehicle, mobile phone, and louvre blades.

Additionally, a 21-year-old man was charged with intent to cause grievous harm to his 19-year-old wife, while a 52-year-old woman was charged with causing grievous harm to her 54-year-old husband.
