Justin Ho and nine others are facing charges of importing over 4.2 tonnes of methamphetamine worth $2 billion into the country.
They are accused of unlawfully facilitating the importation of over 4.2 tonnes of methamphetamine from November 1st to December 23rd, 2023, in Nadi without lawful authority.
Additionally, they are charged with unlawful possession of illicit drugs, allegedly transporting over 4.2 tonnes of methamphetamine from David’s Marine Repairs Yard, Industrial Road, Denarau, Nadi, to Subzero Car Wash/Café yard, Denarau, Nadi, and another unnamed person.
Logaivalu, Ratu Aporosa Davelevu, and another unnamed person are also charged with unlawful possession of illicit drugs. They were involved in dealing with the transfer and transport of over 4.2 tonnes of methamphetamines from Subzero Car Wash/Café yard, Denarau Industrial Road, Denarau, Nadi, to Motorex Business Centre, 15 Nadi Back-Road, Nadi.
Sakiusa Tuva and an unnamed person are also charged with unlawful possession of illicit drugs. They were involved in dealing with the transfer and transport of over 4.2 tonnes of methamphetamines from Motorex Business Centre, 15 Nadi Back-Road, Nadi, to Voivoi, Legalega, Nadi, without lawful authority.
Aukerea, Tuva Ratu Osea Levula, Cathy Tuirabe, and Viliame Colawaliku are also charged with unlawful possession of illicit drugs. They were involved in dealing with the transfer and transport of over a tonne of methamphetamines from Voivoi, Legalega, Nadi, to Maqalevu, Narewa.
Ho is also charged with possession of property suspected to be proceeds of crime, with cash allegedly possessed on January 23rd, 2024, in Taveuni. Logaivalu and Aukerea are also charged with possession of property suspected to be proceeds of crime.
The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions has applied to destroy the drugs, but all defense counsels object. The hearing for this matter will occur in the Lautoka High Court next Thursday.
