The government has assured residents of the Nasealevu to Savusavuitaqa road access in Macuata that the necessary upgrades will be completed despite the current delays.
The Ministry of Finance approved $275,000 in funds in April.
However, due to administrative processes, the funds are expected to arrive in the next financial year.
Divisional Planning Officer North, Setareki Dakuiboca, stated that the project will involve collaboration with other stakeholders and the Ministry of Finance’s procurement office.
The road upgrade to Nasealevu, Viriqilai, and nearby settlements has been ongoing, as past governments failed to fulfill their promises.
The Public Works Department was expected to undertake the upgrade work.
