The Ministry of Health has not received an official complaint regarding the death of a patient at Nadi Hospital.
A Facebook user raised concerns about her daughter’s death, alleging negligence and overdose.
The patient, suffering from severe bronchial asthma, was transferred to Lautoka Hospital, where she died the following day.
The Ministry has established procedures to address family grievances and will coordinate with the family to facilitate the process.
They remind people that social media may not be the most effective platform for addressing complaints regarding the Ministry’s services.
The Ministry is still trying to speak to the family and determine if they will file a complaint with the Ministry of Health.
