Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka is set to meet with former FijiFirst members this weekend, following a request from opposition MP Mosese Bulitavu.

After FijiFirst was deregistered for not amending its constitution, its MPs were given time to decide whether to remain independent or join other political parties.

Rabuka confirmed that the idea of a national unity government is still being considered, pending parliamentary constitution and standing orders.

Some opposition members have already voiced their support for Rabuka and expressed their intention to help their constituents.

Rabuka emphasized that he does not wish to jeopardize anyone’s parliamentary career, as everyone has worked in the best interest of their constituents.
